Home of Stonehenge builders found

Home of Stonehenge builders found

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Scientists have uncovered the largest Neolithic settlement in the United Kingdom at the Durrington Walls and believe that the village was inhabited by the people who built the Stonehenge monument.

Scientists say that the village was built around 2,600 B.C., roughly when Stonehenge was believed to have been constructed, and housed over 100 people.

Inside the areas which would have been the interior of houses at the time, scientists also found outlines of what they think were beds and cupboards or dressers. Pieces of pottery and “filthy” rubbish around the site. Animal bones, arrowheads, stone tools and other relics were also discovered.

“We’ve never seen such quantities of pottery and animal bone and flint. In what were houses, we have excavated the outlines on the floors of box beds and wooden dressers or cupboards,” said Sheffield University archaeologist Mike Parker Pearson.

So far, the dig has revealed at least 8 houses roughly 14-16 feet square, but scientists say that they think there may have been at least 25 altogether.

The site was likely to have been occupied only seasonally rather than year-round and evidence suggests that a lot of “partying” went on at the location.

“The animal bones are being thrown away half-eaten. It’s what we call a feasting assemblage. This is where they went to party – you could say it was the first free festival. The rubbish isn’t your average domestic debris. There’s a lack of craft-working equipment for cleaning animal hides and no evidence for crop-processing,” added Pearson.

The Durrington Walls are approximately 2 miles from the Stonehenge site.

Reconditioning Process Of Bucket Trucks – i80 Equipments

I-80 equipment sells reconditioned bucket trucks and other equipment. Each and every vehicle that is bought receives a complete overhaul before ever being sold. The quality and amount of work that goes into each vehicle allows I-80 to stand behind each one that is sold.

The first step in the overhaul process is that the vehicle is completely disassembled. This allows for each vehicle to be completely inspected when it arrives. Any extra boxes are cut off of the truck and it goes on to the next step. The bucket truck is then sprayed down completely with a very powerful degreaser. Once the degreaser has had a chance to clean the truck it receives a full power wash.

The next step in the process is for the truck to be placed into the body bay. The truck is sanded completely down to the factory primer. A 320 grit sander is used to rid the vehicle of every bit of the paint. Once this is finished the dents are pulled and any bad metal on the truck is replaced. The truck is now ready to be repainted. The boxes and chassis are sprayed with with Colar epoxy primer for protection of the vehicle. Next a 2.8 industrial emron paint is applied. The paint is heat treated to 100 degrees and then the bed liners and walkways are sprayed 100 mills thick with the same paint. All the paint is applied using a 120 gallon Linex machine. The use of this kind of machinery is what allows us to place a warranty on all the bed liners and walkways in each and every truck.

The truck is now ready to the assembly bay and be completely reassembled. All the broken parts are replaced during this process to ensure that the truck will be in good working order when it is received by the customer. The mechanics bay is the next destination for the truck. The mechanics perform a 77 point inspection on each and every vehicle that passes them. The list of mechanical parts that are checked during this process are: the engine, power tran, steering, suspension, brakes, electrical system, cab, body, tires, wheels and rims.

Once the reconditioning process is complete the boom trucks, crane trucks and digger derrick trucks are ready to be sold. None of the bucket trucks for go out on the floor for sale until they receive this reconditioning. The high standards that are placed on this process is what allows I-80 to produce quality vehicles for their customers.

i80equipment is an online New & Used Bucket Trucks store. Offers a wide variety of Bucket trucks, Boom Trucks & Crane Trucks.

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

On Monday local time, a chartered flight carrying 72 passengers and nine crew members crashed on the outskirts of the city of Medellín, Colombia. The Colombian police has indicated only five people on board survived the crash.

The British Aerospace 146 was flying from Brazil to Colombia via Bolivia. The plane reported facing electrical problems near La Ceja and La Unión before crashing at roughly 10:15pm local time (0315 Tuesday UTC). The crash site had bad weather, and heavy fog prevented rescue helicopters from landing.

According to initial reports, six passengers were rescued but later one of them died in hospital.

The flight was carrying Brazilian Série A football team Chapecoense’s delegations. Chapecoense was scheduled to play Colombian club Atlético Nacional today in the Copa Sudamericana final; Copa Sudamericana is South America’s second-tier club competition, the winner of which is promoted to the first-tier competition of Copa Libertadores in the next season.

The Chapecó based club were promoted to the first division Série A in 2014. They are currently ninth in the league table and the final league match of the season was scheduled to be played on Sunday against Atlético Mineiro. Reaching the final of Copa Sudamericana was the best outcome in the club’s history.

By varying reports either 21 or 22 Brazilian football journalists where also on the flight. The five survivors include at least two football players, who have been identified as Alan Ruschel and Jakson Follmann.

South America’s governing body of football CONMEBOL has suspended the upcoming fixture. Atlético Nacional were scheduled to play the second leg of the final on December 7.

Brazilian president Michel Temer tweeted, “I express my solidarity at this sad time when dozens of Brazilian families have been affected by tragedy.” ((pt)) Portuguese language: Nesta hora triste que a tragédia se abate sobre dezenas de famílias brasileiras, expresso minha solidariedade. Temer has also called three-day mourning in Brazil.

Atlético Nacional requested CONMEBOL award the Copa Sudamericana to Chapecoense. Several Brazilian clubs said they would loan players to Chapecoense for the upcoming season for free. They also requested Chapecoense be granted three seasons’ immunity from relegation to a lower division.

A Little About Naperville

Get More Information Here:

byAlma Abell

Given that it has been crowned as one of the top twenty wealthiest cities in the nation one might find it hard to believe that there is still a need for bankruptcy lawyers in Naperville. However, there is a need, despite that fact. Joto settle, established the town of Naperville. The Naper’s Settlement, as it was known, included Almeda Landon, Naper’s wife, his own brother John and his wife Betsy and his sister Amy with her husband John Murray. Murray also brought his mother, Sarah and their mutual arrival to the area happened after a two month long crossing of three of the Great Lakes.

History and Growth

The area attracted more than just Naper’s family and friends and within a mere year the settlement has grown to over one hundred residents. Most of them had been temporarily displaced because of the Indian Creek Massacre in the Black Hawk War. A mere two years later in 1834 the town was already so well established that it became the county seat of DuPage when DuPage split away from Cook County, which it kept until 1868. In 1857 the settlement was ‘upgraded’ and incorporated as a village and by then was two thousand residents strong. 1890 saw it incorporated as an actual city. Nowadays Naperville has a population of about 75,000 on one side of the DuPage county and 45, 000 residents on the side of Will County and, despite the split, Naperville is the 5th largest city in the state of Illinois, following Chicago, Aurora, then Rockford and Joliet, respectively.

Seventy years later, despite the main pull being the rural existence of Naperville, it experienced a massive growth spurt, beginning during the 1960’s and carrying on slowly through the 1980’s and 1990’s. Since the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway was constructed further prosperity has come to the area, creating jobs in all sectors, including corporate and industrial. This has been the largest contribution to the wealth of the area and the sprawl into the Chicago Metropolitan area. Naperville did hit the news headlines in 1946 when it was the scene of a serious train disaster which saw forty-seven people killed. For more information, please contact Chicago Debt Solutions. “Woofstock” dog festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

“Woofstock” dog festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

North America’s largest outdoor dog festival came back to Toronto last weekend for its fifth year. It ran from the 9th of June to the 10th of June at Toronto’s historical St. Lawrence Market. A Wikinews reporter was there on Sunday to report on some of the events that happened on the last day.

The “Woofstock” dog festival attracted as many as 140,000 people with their dogs. The festival had tons of accessories, sold under tents, to buy for dogs; food, toys, designer clothes, and more. About 400 vendors and exhibitors were there to promote their products, which also gave private dog companies or groups a chance to show their new products. The local SPCA and some animal rescues were under tents answering questions from visitors. While walking, all visitors could see the CN Tower and other very tall buildings.

One of the local TV stations, Citytv, was there. They hosted a live event at the show which was broadcast on TV. People came up on the stage and asked questions regarding their dogs and the host and co-host answered them.

A man, who called himself the “Chalk Master”, drew two pictures on pavement with chalk. He did it for free but donations were welcome. One was a picture of a girl’s head beside a dog’s head, and another with a wolf.

“Hello Humans. I’ve been invited here to provide your eyeball(s), with some pretty colours. I don’t get paid as I work this weekend strictly for tips… so, if you like what you see please make a DONATION. If you don’t like it simply reach into the pocket of the person next to you and give me their money. CHALK MASTER.”

A contest called “Canada’s top dog” had its own tent with a professional photographer taking pictures of dogs behind a white screen; the winning photo is to be published on the cover of “Puppy and dog basics” magazine.

Large “Gourmet” dog bones were also served from a cart and table.

Next year’s festival is expected to be bigger and better with even more attractions.

Crew of Discovery inspect Shuttle for launch damage

Crew of Discovery inspect Shuttle for launch damage

Wednesday, July 27, 2005

The crew of the Space shuttle Discovery – which launched successfully yesterday – have begun to make inspections of the exterior of the Orbiter.

They are checking for any damage that may have occurred during take-off – the Columbia was destroyed after a piece of foam falling from the external fuel tank split open a wing, allowing super-heated gas to enter the craft upon reentry, leading to its break-up.

The crew of Discovery are using a laserscanner mounted on the end of the shuttle’s 15 m (49.2 ft) long robotic arm. The inspection will consist of 90 minute sessions, during which a three-dimensional image of the surface of the nosecone and the leading edges of the wings will be built up.

NASA engineers are studying footage taken from a camera mounted on the external fuel tank, which appears to show a 1.5″ (3.8 cm) piece of tile falling away from on or near the nose landing-gear doors. There is also footage of an unidentified piece of debris which fell away as the solid rocket boosters were jettisoned, and did not appear to strike the shuttle.
